Founded by Andrea Archvadze and Akaki Andguladze, Maama is more than just a restaurant – it's a heartfelt tribute to the staples of Georgian culture. Our name reflects the delightful flavors of Georgian cuisine, as 'Maama' means 'Yummy' in Georgian. With over 8,000 years of history, Georgia is considered the birthplace of wine, and its ancient methods continue to define the country's winemaking identity today.Central to Georgian winemaking is the qvevri, a clay vessel buried underground to ferment and age wine.
